Bookist Reading Tracker

The Bookist reading tracker web app was conceived by Brian Barrow, a leader in the Free Code Camp SLC community, to help track and rate the books you've read. The app has been through two rounds of design revisions and is currently being developed. This is a full stack app using React on the front end and Node & Express on the back end with a PostgreSQL database. The API was developed first so we can use it with any front end. While I am helping develop the React version of the app, a Vue version is in the works as well!

UtahJS.com Refactor

The UtahJS.com site had a need for maintainers to be able to update content without having to jump in to the code. Gatsby was used for its easy set-up, speed, and plugin library. Sanity was chosen as our headless CMS because of the simple nature of the Sanity Studio, asset pipeline for easy asset uploads, and it's real-time datastore which makes connecting to the API a breeze.

MTC Public Website

The Management & Training Corporation (MTC) public website was designed and developed to solve two major problems for the company, getting positive information about the work the company does to the public and streamlining the job search process. MTC produced tons of positive content, but didn't have a great way to share that content with the public and its customers. The site was developed in conjunction with Objective Inc., a local development shop in Salt Lake City. We accomplished these goals with WordPress, PHP, JavaScript, and SASS.

MTC Employee Website

The MTC employee website was redesigned and developed to solve two major problems. First, MTC needed to communicate work related information to their employees and second, they needed a way for employees to easily access all documents related to their area of operation. The website uses WordPress with a several custom post types and a few plugins for file management to help organize and present content to the appropriate department at the appropriate time. The site was built in collaboration with Red Olive in Salt Lake City.
